Ruusukvartsin

Love, affection and soft purrs. From these ingredients Ruusukvartsi's siberian cats are made of.

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved cats. Who knew every cat book in the library from front to back. But all of the breeds were so delightful! What would the pick be, once the time would finally come to become a proper breeder?

The first ragdoll among the moggies arrived in late 2010 and 4 more followed in the years to come. It was quite close for ragdoll to be my pick of breeds but due to my cat allergy, long fur wasn't the best choice. I started pondering about short-haired cats and decided on bengal cat breed. Unfortunately fate had different plans and due to studies, I had to bury my hopes of breeding cats into the far future ahead.

Until the time finally arose in 2023, when my friend started her breeding career with siberian cats. Through her, my first ever siberian found it's way to my home in early 2024 and to be honest... Siberian cats are everything I've ever hoped for from a cat. They are extremely loving, sociable, curious and they just make you smile every day. I now have 4 siberians and the amount is only going to increase when some babies will stay behind to continue the lineage.

We are located at Juva, which resides in the Finnish countryside. It is approximately 2½h drive from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to us.

Cattery name

I have taken part in Finnish Cat Associety's (Suomen Kissaliitto) breeding course in late 2016. My cattery name FI*Ruusukvartsin was accepted at FIFé on 2.2.2027

I wanted a finnish name for my breeding tag, but it had to be beautiful and memorable. Ruusukvartsi is a direct translation from rose quartz, which is a beautiful, pink stone. The stone is said to have healing properties and it is also said to enhance romantic feelings in oneself. It is my way of celebrating my love for the cats, to name them after such a romantic thing.

Breeding principles

My goal is to breed cats with good temperament and health, which also fit the breed standard. Only healthy individuals will be used in breeding.

Kittens will be handled a lot during their early kittenhood and we will try to get them used to normal sounds of the household. We don't have any other pets aside from cats, but well socialized kittens usually have no problem in fitting new homes among dogs and children for example.

At the moment of surrender the kitten...

>              Kitten is at least 14-weeks old and weighs 1 kilogram
>              Kitten has mandatory vaccines and it has been dewormed
>              Kitten is microchipped and the kitten is registered in Suomen Kissaliitto/FIFé
>              Kitten is used to handling and getting it's nails clipped, bathed etc
>              Kitten has been deemed healthy by a veterinarian

Kitten will get with it...

>              Large kitten package, which includes food, toys and other mandatory stuff
>              Register book and copies from parent's health tests
>              Care instructions orally and on paper
>              Breeder's everlasting support ♡
